The Hypha Wire
LinkedIn post from HubSpot that says sometimes i remember that my big girl job is to chat with you lovely ppl

Happy Friday!

HubSpot posted this on LinkedIn today and it really resonated with me. This newsletter has been so fun to put together—getting to research different topics, talking to experts, working closely with my colleagues on features + more.

Don’t worry, the use of ‘has’ doesn’t mean I’m going anywhere! I’m just doing some reflecting on where we’ve been and where we’re going.

I’ve been writing the Hypha Wire for about eight months, and not much has changed about how it is produced. But just because it’s working, doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement and iteration.

I’ve been brainstorming some changes to make—new features, a fresh coat of paint—and I’m eager to hear from you about them.

What do you look for in a newsletter? What are some of your favorites? Are there any features or sections that keep you coming back week after week?

The goal here is to make something educational, insightful, and entertaining; so let me know if I’m hitting the mark. And if not, help me get there!

We’re on this journey together.

HUGs Are Everything

By Steve Mosco, Managing Inbound Content Developer, Hypha HubSpot Development

It’s almost the weekend and I have one thing on my mind: Everything Bagels.

There really is no grander representation of the bagel. Each seed and spice works together in perfect harmony, yet somehow, they are all individuals strong enough to stand on their own merit. The crunch of sesame seeds, the zing of garlic, the pop of poppy seeds, and the onioniness of onions. Every ingredient supports every other ingredient. Strength and value in diversity.

Wait, are we talking about everything bagels or HubSpot User Groups (HUGs)? Ah HUGs, the everything bagel of the HubSpot world—diverse, enlightening, and catering to all kinds of tastes and global regions.

Whether you’re looking to connect with other HubSpot aficionados or just need an excuse to step away from your 1,042 open tabs, a good HUG can do the trick. These groups are scattered all over the world, bringing together general enthusiasts and niche aficionados alike. The best part? Many HUGs are available online, so you can join in from the comfort of your home—during breakfast or any other meal (breakfast for dinner?).

With an online HUG, you get a virtual room full of people who not only understand your obsession with workflows, but can actually give you tips to make them even slicker. You’ll get to ask burning questions, share your own insights, and maybe even have a lightbulb moment or two. It’s like a live version of those HubSpot Academy courses we all love—and occasionally binge-watch at 2 in the morning.

HUGs are where HubSpotters and experts alike come together to share their secrets. Dive into a HUG session and learn from new friends and collaborators who can lend their support beyond the HUGs.

So, why not give it a whirl? Just like an everything bagel brings a burst of diverse flavors in every bite, HUGs offer a rich mix of insights and connections that can elevate your HubSpot experience. Take a bite, savor the knowledge, and embrace everything. Go forth and HUG it out!

Second Hand News 📰

HubSpot: HubSpot’s SERP Secrets: How The HubSpot Blog Is Combatting SERP Volatility ↠

Phew. This piece from HubSpot actually provided me with some relief. If a company with its clout and domain authority faced struggles in the new Google world, then of course smaller companies would as well. Unlike the routine doomsday pieces out there, this one actually shares tips and strategies to combat the SERP changes, and the advice is extremely actionable.

“We’re certainly not out of the immensely convoluted Google woods yet. But I’m proud to share that the portion of HubSpot blog posts our team has E-E-A-T-ified over the last nine months have stabilized and, in some instances, seen increases that rival our original case study.”

The Verge: The biggest names in AI have teamed up to promote AI security ↠

This is not the first AI coalition that’s been reported, which I guess makes me feel better (maybe)? The part that makes me laugh is that the coalition is made up of the AI actors themselves, so I’m wondering how much policing will actually happen. Either way, while we may not be at the ‘AI is coming for our jobs and taking over the world’ epidemic yet, it’s good to know some preventative guardrails are being discussed.

“Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, Amazon, Nvidia, Intel, and other big names in AI are coming together to form the Coalition for Secure AI (CoSAI), according to an announcement on Thursday. The initiative aims to address a ‘fragmented landscape of AI security’ by providing access to open-source methodologies, frameworks, and tools.

“CoSAI will exist within the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS), a nonprofit group that promotes the development of open standards. CoSAI will work on three goals to start: developing best practices for AI security; addressing challenges in AI; and securing AI applications.”
