All this and more in this week’s edition of The Hypha Wire, from Hypha HubSpot Development.
Happy Friday! Welcome back to The Hypha Wire.
I have music on the mind today. Actually, I have music all around me—I’m currently at a music festival (thank you email scheduling)!
But when I’m not jamming out at a fest, music is still an important part of my work day. Finding the right playlist vibe for the moment can be crucial to unlocking your best focus flow.
This week, we lost two heavy hitters in the music industry who play big roles in my personal playlists—Sly Stone and Brian Wilson.
Okay, you got me. This isn’t really marketing-related today. But it felt right to shout out these legends and send everyone to their respective streaming platform to listen to the best of Sly & The Family Stone and The Beach Boys.
I’ll leave you with a favorite of mine from each artist:

Creating Newsletters in HubSpot
By John Patti, Web Designer, Hypha HubSpot Development
Lately, I’ve been working on designing newsletters in HubSpot’s email builder and wanted to share a few things I’ve learned along the way.
Custom modules have proven to be a useful tool for creating flexible layouts. These make it easy to maintain branding and save time when setting up future emails. Tables make sure everything stays aligned across different email clients when building custom modules.
Something to watch out for is email size. If your email surpasses 102KB, Gmail and other providers will clip it—meaning the bottom of your email gets cut off, potentially making it difficult to effectively track open rates. To keep the size down, here are some things to keep in mind:
Limit the number of links
Keep the text short and to the point
Combine sections when possible
I also always check how things look on both desktop and mobile, since layout issues can pop up depending on the device.
Finally, once an email is built, I save it as a template. This makes it way easier for clients to reuse the layout later without having to rebuild it from scratch.
These small steps make a big difference in keeping emails clean, readable, and easy to manage.
Are there some places that should remain free from AI? Perhaps Wikipedia—which once had an AI-like reputation of being inaccurate and unreliable itself—falls into that category. Let the humans do the verification.
“The Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit organization which hosts and develops Wikipedia, has paused an experiment that showed users AI-generated summaries at the top of articles after an overwhelmingly negative reaction from the Wikipedia editors community.
“‘Just because Google has rolled out its AI summaries doesn’t mean we need to one-up them, I sincerely beg you not to test this, on mobile or anywhere else,’ one editor said in response to Wikimedia Foundation’s announcement that it will launch a two-week trial of the summaries on the mobile version of Wikipedia.
“A day later, Wikimedia announced that it would pause the launch of the experiment, but indicated that it’s still interested in AI-generated summaries.”
I love this idea. We’re programmed to think big all the time, but getting small and targeted can be as effective, if not more, depending on your business. Maybe it’s not a podcast of your own, but sponsoring a podcast that people in your geographical target market listen to.
“The collapse of local media has created massive gaps in community coverage. Decades of media consolidation led to layoffs of reporters, anchors, and producers—cutting off vital community storytelling in favor of bottom-line savings.
“But today’s tools flip the script. Anyone with a mic and a message can share stories that matter to their neighborhood. The barrier to entry is lower than ever—but guidance from experienced media professionals can help turn that access into powerful, valuable local content.”
Hypha Highlights
The days of static, one-size-fits-all forms are over. B2B prospects now expect personalized, frictionless experiences from their very first interaction with your brand.
Yet many businesses using HubSpot CMS are still relying on basic forms that create unnecessary barriers and miss opportunities to capture qualified leads.
If your lead capture strategy hasn’t evolved beyond standard form fields and generic CTAs, you’re likely leaving revenue on the table. Modern buyers research extensively before engaging with sales teams, and they expect websites to adapt to their needs and interests throughout their journey.
The good news? HubSpot CMS provides powerful tools to create sophisticated lead capture experiences that feel natural, reduce friction, and generate higher-quality prospects.
Are your website traffic and conversions dropping despite consistent content efforts? You’re not alone. Industry analysis shows a clear pattern emerging: websites built just a couple of years ago are already struggling with visibility, conversion performance, and user experience standards that now influence success across digital channels.
While traditional Google search remains the primary way people discover businesses, the digital landscape has become significantly more complex since 2024.
The sites that seem to perform best in this evolving environment tend to be those that have adapted to leverage HubSpot’s latest capabilities rather than maintaining static configurations from previous years. This includes not just technical updates, but rethinking how your homepage works when visitors arrive with vastly different levels of prior knowledge about your business.
If you only have time to implement a few changes, focus on these high-impact HubSpot CMS updates.
“Brian Halligan and I officially started the company on June 9th, 2006 -- but we had already been noodling on the idea while grad students.
“It’s been a really fun and fulfilling ride.
“I’m grateful to all the people that have believed in us and supported us along the way, including our 250,000+ customers and thousands of partners.”
AI in Action
News, updates and tools from the AI industry.
Let’s check in with the heavy hitters across the AI landscape.
OpenAI has released o3-pro, a new reasoning model that works through problems step by step, with capabilities spanning science, education, programming, and business. Available for ChatGPT Pro and Team users, the model offers enhanced performance across various domains and is now accessible through OpenAI’s developer API.
I felt this quote spoke for itself: “Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is personally creating a new ‘superintelligence’ team dedicated to building the world’s most advanced AI platform, and splashing out nine-figure packages to hire top talent, the New York Times and Bloomberg reported Tuesday.”
Apple researchers have published a study questioning the reasoning capabilities of current large language models, suggesting that these AI systems struggle with complex problem-solving tasks and may have fundamental limitations in their approach to reasoning. The paper argues that existing benchmarks may not accurately capture the true abilities of advanced AI models.
The Browser Company, creators of Arc, have announced Dia, a new AI-first browser designed around a built-in chatbot that can understand and interact with every website you visit. Currently in beta for Mac users, Dia is aiming to make browsing more intelligent by putting AI at the center of the web experience.
“Assistant Attorney General Gail Slater inherited the government’s antitrust case against Google and is eager to follow it through—but likely not for the same reasons as her predecessors.”
