Welcome back to The Hypha Wire!

We’re officially six days out from Halloween. Spooky, no?

While I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of dressing up, I genuinely appreciate how much joy it brings people.

It’s also a great time to flex creative marketing muscles, with Halloween-related campaigns and activations.

Whether you’re selling a product or participating in brand awareness, there are a ton of ways to get in on the fun. For example:

  • Halloween sales: Come up with a themed discount code or sale, and encourage customers to trick or treat (in your virtual store).

  • Office fun: Dress up in costume and create fun videos for social media. Bonus points for super topical or meme-related outfits.

  • Giveaways: Hold a contest and reward 31 entrants as the winners. The “price” of submission could be proof of social follow, newsletter signup, etc.

You may be thinking, perhaps, that your customer base is too old to enjoy the holiday, but as Ad Age reports, “Halloween is no longer just a kids’ holiday...It started with millennials and has continued on with Gen Z for something that young adults are continuing to participate in whether or not they have children.”

Halloween is for everyone, so get in the spirit and use it to your advantage with a themed campaign!

Incorporating AI Tools: A Game-Changer for Creativity and Efficiency

By Jon Chim, VP of Design & Development, Hypha HubSpot Development

In recent years, designers have begun integrating AI tools into their workflows, significantly streamlining the logo design process. While the designer’s creativity and expertise are still at the heart of the work, such tools as ChatGPT, Image FX, and others have become invaluable in boosting ideation and accelerating decision-making.

Creative Idea Generation
ChatGPT, for instance, can generate mood boards, keywords, taglines, and visual suggestions based on the brand’s core values. This helps designers get past creative blocks and opens up new perspectives by suggesting unexpected combinations of colors, fonts, or styles. Even though AI-generated ideas might not always be perfect, they can serve as inspiration sparks to jump-start the creative process.

Exploring Color Schemes and Visual Themes
AI-powered platforms can analyze current design trends and brand-specific themes to suggest optimal color palettes. They can also assist with simulating various brand environments (e.g., seeing how a logo looks on packaging or a website) to make sure the design aligns with the intended look and feel.

Typography Exploration
Typography selection is often time-consuming, as it requires balancing legibility, style, and tone. AI tools can provide font pairings and typographic styles based on the project’s needs, saving hours of manual experimentation. This allows designers to focus more on fine-tuning details rather than starting from scratch.

AI as a Starting Point, Not a Replacement

While AI tools are immensely helpful in generating fresh ideas, quick sketches, and design elements, they cannot replace the nuanced judgment and creative intuition of a human designer. The real magic of logo design happens in the refinement phase, where subtle adjustments to typography, kerning, color contrast, or icon placement elevate the design from good to exceptional. With the help of AI, designers can free up more time for this critical stage.

Sustainable Brands: DEI, Sustainability Teams Are Linchpins of Future-Proof Organizations ➜

There’s never a bad time to remind everyone that employees love working for companies that are doing good in the world.

“[Bea Boccalandro’s] research points to clear upticks in health, happiness and performance by giving people purpose and meaning to their work: ‘It’s not just young people that want meaningful work. Nearly all employees are pining for purpose in what they are doing. Too many people are lifeless and listless, shuffling their way through the working day because they don’t have a purpose. The sustainability profession can solve that; it’s like giving people a vitamin. But you only need trace amounts of it to make a difference.’”

Streamline Processes by Automating the Creation of Tickets or Deals text on blue background with screenshots of Google Sheets and Zapier.

As companies strive to meet the growing demands of their customers and maintain a competitive edge, the need to streamline workflows and optimize processes has become increasingly important. Leveraging technology to automate repetitive tasks helps remove friction and allows businesses to scale more efficiently. One example is the creation of tickets or deals from incoming emails—a task that, while seemingly straightforward, often proves to be a cumbersome and time-consuming process.

In many organizations, incoming data, such as client information or service requests, is often delivered in the form of an email or as an attached spreadsheet. While these spreadsheets serve as a convenient means of organizing and presenting data, extracting relevant information from them and inputting it into ticketing systems can be a tedious and error-prone task.

Forward-thinking organizations can leverage low-code solutions like Zapier and integrated platforms (Slack, HubSpot, Google Sheets) to automate processes and modernize systems. By leveraging the power of Zapier’s integrated workflow automation capabilities, Hypha has come up with a unique solution that other businesses can replicate. This solution seamlessly connects the tools you use, automating the transfer of data and eliminating the need for manual data entry.

“Awesome HubSpot Agency”

We recently needed to create a new website on HubSpot, and Hypha went above and beyond to get the job done, and get it done right. They nailed the vision right out of the gate and were really easy to work with. They provided training on how to make updates, and even stepped in and assisted when our old site went down during project. Couldn’t recommend this group enough. -B. Smith
