When things are looking a little tough, it’s important to find the things that keep you motivated (especially in a non-work capacity). Whether it be a new album, your favorite weekly podcast drop, or a fresh installment in that book series you’re loving—something tangible to hold onto.

Building AI Agents: A No-Code Approach to Workflow Automation

Recently, our team has been exploring how AI can accelerate workflows for ourselves and our clients. AI agents are efficient digital assistants who never tire and can either be instructed to perform workflows or figure out how to solve problems on their own. But how do you actually build one? That’s where AI agent-building platforms come in.

 

Agent-building platforms allow your team to build workflows and behavior to accelerate how much you can accomplish in a day. One feature that has been exciting for our team is the ability to build no-code solutions. With user-friendly interfaces, these platforms empower you to edit and connect actions seamlessly, achieving in minutes what could otherwise consume hours of manual effort. This means that team members with no coding experience can build these agents too. Or, if your team has developer resources, you can take a hybrid approach like us: building quickly using the UI and inserting custom code actions where the platform has limitations.

 

Currently, there are a wealth of agent builders, many with free trials that let you see how exciting building automations with AI can be. At Hypha we’ve already started building out use cases with platforms like agent.ai, Zapier Agents, LangChain, and OpenAI’s Operator. I encourage you to look into what each of these platforms is capable of and experiment with one that suits your needs. Features like Natural Language Processing (NLP), API integrations, workflow builders, and low-code/no-code options could help your team gain an edge.

 

We’ve found the best way to start wrapping your head around agents and AI is to simply start building. Pick a platform, start small, and see what AI automation can do for you. Before you know it, you’ll have an AI sidekick handling the mundane, freeing you to focus on strategic thinking and next steps. AI agents will continue to evolve, and they hold the potential to elevate productivity and unlock new possibilities for large and small teams.

For those who are attuned to the industry, you may have heard about DeepSeek, the latest AI platform on the scene, out of China.

 

The announcement made a splash due to the company’s claims that they built the model for ~six million, whereas OpenAI cost billions to develop.

 

Quick to rise quick to fall, however. Late this week it was discovered that DeepSeek had left a large database unprotected, and was able to be accessed by anyone on the internet. They have since remedied this, but it’s raised security concerns across the marketplace. 

 

Regulators in Italy have already banned the platform from app stores, and other countries may be following suit. Additionally, U.S. federal organizations (NASA, the Navy, Congressional offices) have banned usage by employees.

 

While new developments are exciting, and fans of the tech are eager to to catch the next big drop, this feels like an exercise in patience and caution. The shiny new thing may not be the safest new thing, especially in the AI world where things move fast.
