Hey there, welcome back to The Hypha Wire!

News around the world has been a little rough recently. Specifically, in the U.S., we’ve seen so much devastation from the wildfires in Los Angeles.

If you’re not local to the area, or even the country, it may be hard to know how to support coworkers who have sadly been affected by the disaster.

Here are a few tips on how to appropriately support your colleagues in a situation like this. (Note: I’m only going to speak to immediate work needs; financial support is obviously a big factor for wildfire victims right now, but everyone’s financial situation is different and, in a work context, becomes even more complicated.)

First, recognize that affected teammates may be dealing with many urgent needs—from finding temporary housing to managing insurance claims or simply processing their experience.

Create space for flexibility in work arrangements. Affected colleagues may need to handle personal matters during traditional work hours. Back them up in meetings, offer to cover timely tasks, and advocate for deadline extensions when appropriate. Remember that even after immediate dangers pass, the recovery process can take months.

Most importantly, maintain consistent but unobtrusive communication. Some colleagues may want to talk about their experiences, while others prefer privacy. Follow their lead. Simple check-in messages like “I’m thinking of you, no response needed” can show you care without creating pressure.

And remember that emotional support is just as crucial as practical help. Sometimes just having teammates acknowledge the difficulty of the situation and express genuine concern can help affected teammates feel less alone.

The Logical Connection Between HubSpot Services and AI Consulting

By Jon Sasala, President, Hypha HubSpot Development

In 2018, I wrote about our company’s evolution from an Inbound Marketing Agency to one that embraced Sales Enablement and full CRM Configuration as a core service offering. This shift took us from Marketing Agency to Growth Agency, representing the broader, integrated areas we were capable of supporting. Today, we stand at another transformative moment in our agency’s journey with the integration of AI Business Consulting into our service portfolio. I’m struck by the parallels between these transitions and their significance for our clients’ success.

Back then, we recognized that generating leads wasn’t enough if our clients couldn’t effectively convert them. As I wrote in 2018:

“We may judge our success by the number of leads generated, but if those leads don’t have an impact, are we really succeeding? Even if expectations are clearly set, unconverted leads create a perception that we are not providing value.”

This realization led us to leverage the HubSpot CRM, which was already integrated into our clients’ marketing platforms. We found ourselves “inadvertently managing large teams of salespeople” and realized this adjacent service wasn’t just logical—it was essential for our clients’ success and, by extension, our own.

Today, we’re embarking on a similar expansion, but instead of optimizing Sales and Service systems, we’re leading our clients through the AI revolution. Just as HubSpot’s evolving platform supported our expansion into broader related areas of support, its new Breeze AI suite of tools, and the integrated third-party agentic AI opportunities, have opened unprecedented possibilities for enhancing our clients’ operations.

Our deep understanding of business operations through HubSpot implementations, coupled with our pioneering use of AI, uniquely positions us to guide clients through their AI transformation journey. We don’t just understand the technology; we live it. By implementing AI solutions within our agency first, we’ve developed practical insights into what works, what doesn’t, and where the real value lies. This hands-on experience, combined with our extensive HubSpot expertise, allows us to help clients navigate the AI revolution with confidence and clarity, ensuring they achieve meaningful results rather than just chasing the latest trend.

Second Hand News

NPR: What to know about RedNote, the Chinese app that American TikTokkers are flooding âžś

TikTok “refugees” are switching over to China’s RedNote (Xiaohongshu) in anticipation of this weekend’s impending ban. However, as (mentioned below) it’s not the most similar app to TikTok, and oh, most everything is in Mandarin. While some are lauding the new cultural experience, others are getting banned for their video content. While it’s unclear if American users will continue using RedNote, I think I can safely say that I don’t see American businesses taking the jump.

“The Chinese equivalent of TikTok is the ByteDance-owned platform Douyin.

“RedNote is a different app altogether. It’s considered China’s answer to Instagram, with a layout similar to Pinterest (displaying multiple posts at the same time) and a focus on travel, makeup, fashion and shopping.”

TechCrunch: Bluesky is getting its own photo-sharing app, Flashes âžś

More on the social media front. An Instagram competitor is soon hitting the app store—Twitter alternative Bluesky’s Flashes. This may come as a welcome respite for users looking to leave Meta platforms after the announcement that it would no longer employ fact checking on posts.

It’s all getting a little hairy out there, and it’s unclear what the trends will be for individual companies using the social media apps.

“When launched, Flashes could tap into growing consumer demand for alternatives to Big Tech’s social media monopoly. This trend has led to the adoption of open source, decentralized apps like Mastodon and Bluesky, among others, including the recently launched Pixelfed mobile apps, built on ActivityPub protocol, also used by Mastodon. It’s also, in part, what’s fueling TikTok users’ shift to the Chinese app RedNote ahead of the U.S. TikTok ban â€” that is, U.S. users are signaling that they would rather use a foreign adversary’s app than return to Meta at this point.”

Choosing the Right CMS- What to Consider

When successful organizations outgrow their content management systems, the signs are unmistakable: User permissions become unmanageable, customer journey tracking breaks down, and teams struggle to gain meaningful insights as their tech stack evolves. What was once a simple website platform now stands as a barrier to growth.

The Content Management System (CMS) you choose today needs to serve your organization well into tomorrow. It must align with your business objectives, support your marketing efforts, and provide a seamless experience for both users and content managers—all while fitting within your organization’s budget and scaling alongside your growth.

“Whether you’re starting out with a small blog, building a shop or small website, or developing a portfolio for a client, you want to know that your CMS software will meet your team’s needs now and in the future as you grow,” says Jon Chim, VP of Design & Development for Hypha HubSpot Development.

Choosing a modern CMS means navigating complex tradeoffs between headless architectures, AI capabilities, and development workflows.

To be sure, not all CMS platforms are created equal. Before exploring specific platforms, let’s examine the critical factors that will help you make an informed decision for your organization’s needs.
